Hello, I’m Emma — and I’m delighted to share my two unique holiday properties in the heart of North Yorkshire, each offering a peaceful escape from the everyday.

In the village of Melmerby near Ripon, I host a small farm lodge designed just for couples. Tucked away in the countryside, it’s the perfect spot for a quiet break, with easy access to Ripon, Fountains Abbey, and surrounding market towns. (Please note: this property is not dog-friendly.)

Further north, in the stunning Yorkshire Dales, is River Dance Cottage, Kingfisher Cottage and The Bothy in Aysgarth — both cosy, stone-built cottages as well as The Bothy are nestled on the banks of the River Ure and next to the iconic Aysgarth Falls. With a log-burning stove, charming interiors, and beautiful walks on the doorstep, it’s a welcoming space for couples, small families, and well-behaved dogs.

The Bothy, is a new addition to my portfolio and a little different as I manage this property on behalf of the owners. The Bothy is a one bedroom luxury retreat on the same development as the Mill and the cottages but is a small detached property right on the riverside and with a lovely garden. We are hoping to add a swedish outdoor bath in the coming months.

Both Cottages as well as The Bothy reflect my love for comfort, calm, and the natural beauty of Yorkshire. I look forward to welcoming you.

Nestled in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, River Dance Cottage is perfectly placed for those looking to enjoy the great outdoors, delicious local food, and a touch of tranquillity.

🗺️ Scenic Walks:

Step out of the door and you’re moments from the spectacular Aysgarth Falls — a series of dramatic waterfalls featured in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. From gentle riverside strolls to more challenging hikes, there’s something for everyone. Popular routes include the walk to Bolton Castle, woodland trails through Freeholders’ Wood, and scenic paths across the Dales countryside.

☕ Cafés & Tearooms:

Enjoy homemade cakes and cream teas at Mill Race Tea Shop or cosy up with a coffee at The Falls Café just a short walk from the cottage. For a unique treat, the Wensleydale Creamery in nearby Hawes is a must-visit.

The Falls Inn/ Palmers Restaurant- Located just a short walk from the cottage, known for its seasonal menus, local produce and relaxed yet refined dining.

The Fox & Hounds in West Burton – perfect after a long walk
